This amount, the largest of the current term, aims to benefit more citizens by raising the income limits for eligibility. The main objective is to help alleviate the financial strain on families with members who have some degree of disability, thereby improving their quality of life.
The aid line is regulated by the new general subsidy ordinance, under a competitive bidding system, which has allowed the budget to increase from €525,000 in previous years to the current €600,000.
To be eligible, individuals (both adults and minors) must meet certain requirements, including having a recognized and valid degree of disability equal to or greater than 45% (adults) or 33% (minors under eighteen), and being registered and effectively residing in the municipality of Mijas for at least five years immediately prior to the application.
The total income of the economic unit members cannot exceed specific limits based on the number of members and the annual Public Income Indicator for Multiple Effects (IPREM). These limits are increased for families with minors or with more than four members.
Depending on the scoring of each valid application, the aid amounts can be €1,800 (up to 35 points), €2,520 (between 36 and 50 points), and €3,240 for over 50 points.
