Interested companies have until August 10 to submit their bids. The pool remains closed to the public due to its poor condition and safety concerns, forcing users to travel to the La Cala pool.
In a previous tender, the sole company that submitted a bid did not meet the required economic solvency, leading to the tender being declared void. The City Council has opted for the urgent procedure to speed up the process and begin construction as soon as possible, fulfilling a commitment from the governing team.
Inspections have revealed significant deterioration in structural components, sandwich panels, waterproofing systems, and drainage. These deficiencies, according to the project commissioned by the Infrastructure delegation, compromised the safety, watertightness, and durability of the roofs, with detected issues including screw oxidation, degradation of gutters and downpipes, and insulation problems.
The work will involve renovating the structural support and installing new sandwich panels. Interventions will be carried out in a localized manner, preserving components in good condition and ensuring the structural continuity of the existing system. Subsequently, the rainwater drainage system will be renewed.
