The discovery of a body in the Casasola reservoir, in Almogía (Málaga), in October, has allowed the National Police to unravel a meticulously planned crime. The investigation reveals that the alleged perpetrators not only ended the victim's life but also orchestrated a disinformation campaign to make his family abandon the search for the missing person.
According to investigative sources, hoaxes were spread in Albanian media about the supposed appearance of the body, with the aim of wearing down the family and diverting attention from the case. Furthermore, the victim's circle faced direct intimidation in Italy, where they were urged to stop searching for the corpse.
“"Don't keep looking for the body; you won't find it."
The body, bound hand and foot and wrapped in a sack with concrete blocks, was discovered on October 14 by a citizen camping in the area, when the reservoir's water level dropped. This finding was crucial for the investigation, which until then was based on conjectures following the victim's partner's missing person report in Marbella on May 12, 2025.
The victim, a 31-year-old man with a history of international drug trafficking, was lured to a meeting in Puerto de la Torre, where he was ambushed. The alleged perpetrators, also of Albanian origin and linked to drug trafficking, traveled from Barcelona to carry out the crime, which is suspected to be a settling of scores.
The body was placed in a sack with cement to ensure it remained at the bottom of the reservoir. Despite the advanced state of decomposition, tattoos and clothing allowed for identification, later confirmed by DNA tests. The motive for the crime points to an outstanding debt or a failed deal within organized crime.
