Diagnostic assessment tests, which commenced on May 5th, involve students from Primary and Secondary Education in the province of Córdoba. A total of 15,700 students from 4th grade Primary and 2nd grade Compulsory Secondary Education (ESO) are participating in this initiative, distributed across more than 400 educational centers.
4th grade Primary students, numbering over 7,000, were assessed on Tuesday, May 5th, in Spanish Language and Literature and First Foreign Language (English, French, or German). The Mathematics test will take place on Wednesday, May 6th. These evaluations will be conducted in paper format, using printed booklets previously distributed to the centers.
Meanwhile, approximately 8,500 students from 2nd grade ESO will take their tests in digital format between May 5th and 7th. The subjects to be evaluated are Spanish Language and Literature, First Foreign Language, and Mathematics. The maximum duration for each area or subject is 60 minutes, for both Primary and Secondary levels.
These tests aim to provide more precise information on students' mastery of linguistic communication, plurilingual competence, and mathematical skills. The full digitalization for 2nd grade ESO students simplifies bureaucracy in coding and correction, and a prior pilot test was conducted in March to ensure their suitability.
Accommodations and support have been planned for students with specific educational support needs, including expanded resources for dyslexic students. These students will receive an individualized report that will provide relevant information to teachers and families regarding their schooling process.
The Junta de Andalucía has reported that these evaluations are informative, formative, and guiding. Their objective is to complement ongoing teacher assessments, identify areas for improvement, and provide valuable data for educational centers and the Ministry of Educational Development and Vocational Training to implement measures that optimize academic results.
