Hotel establishments in the province of Córdoba have experienced a notable decrease in the number of travelers during the first half of 2026, losing nearly 50,000 customers compared to the same period last year. This drop represents a significant setback for the sector.
In contrast, tourist apartments in Córdoba have seen unprecedented growth, with an increase of over 35% in customer numbers. This boom has meant a gain of 11,926 users for this segment.
Despite the strong growth in apartments, the increase has not been enough to offset the loss of travelers in hotels. Combined, both accommodation types closed the first six months of the year with a decrease of 35,676 travelers, a 5.6% drop compared to the first half of 2025.
Hotels continue to attract the majority of tourist demand, accommodating 551,515 travelers between January and June. Tourist apartments, on the other hand, received 45,758 customers. The evolution of both segments has been markedly opposite since the pandemic, with hotels losing customers while apartments gain ground.
