The internal conflict within Asaja Córdoba has escalated following a recent board meeting, where significant dissatisfaction with the current administration was expressed. During the gathering, board members chose not to approve the report for 2025, nor the accounts for 2026 and the budgets planned for the current year. Furthermore, a proposal to establish a new executive committee was also rejected, clearly indicating strong opposition to the management of president Fernando Adell.
The critical faction of the organization has maintained its opposition to the presidency for months, even collecting over 400 signatures to force a vote of no confidence. Now, nearly twenty board members present at the meeting have signed a document reiterating the demand for Adell's resignation, the convocation of an extraordinary assembly to evaluate his management, and the facilitation of elections to renew the presidency and executive committee.
The management has stressed that discrepancies are a normal part of a plural entity and must be resolved within the channels established in its statutes.
In response to this situation, Asaja Córdoba has issued an official statement defending its internal operations and its commitment to the agricultural sector. The management has indicated that differences of opinion are inherent to a diverse entity and should be addressed according to its statutes. Nevertheless, the organization has expressed concern over the seriousness of some publicly aired accusations and has announced the implementation of internal mechanisms to investigate the facts and ensure transparency.
