The Nature Protection Service (Seprona) of the Civil Guard, in collaboration with the Delegation of Health and Consumption of the Junta de Andalucía, has inspected a food establishment in the province of Cordoba, decreeing its provisional closure for violating current regulations.
The investigation began after receiving information about possible irregularities in food safety. The joint inspection with veterinarians from the Junta de Andalucía revealed numerous deficiencies, such as lack of hygiene in cold rooms and food handling areas, food stored with waste, dirt, and the presence of insects.
Products without traceability or labeling, expired food, improperly defrosted items, food stored directly on the floor, inadequate temperature control in cold rooms, and the co-storage of food with live animals were also found.
Furthermore, it was discovered that the restaurant offered ox meat on its menu, when traceability checks confirmed it was European cow loin, potentially misleading consumers. Deficiencies in allergen information were also noted.
Due to the imminent risk to public health, the Delegation of Health and Consumption ordered the provisional closure and seizure of products. The Civil Guard has processed complaints for alleged violations of public health, agri-food quality, and consumer defense regulations.
