A total of 43 officers from the Local Police of Córdoba will begin a 30-hour training course this Monday to become accredited as tutor agents, aiming to enhance safety and mediation in the city's educational centers.

This complementary training will allow officers to delve into key areas such as mediation, current legislation, and intervention protocols for school bullying. They will also cover effective communication techniques for dealing with young people at risk of exclusion, collaboration with teachers and families, and drug addiction prevention.
The tutor agent profile is that of a police officer specialized in the school environment, whose main function is to facilitate problem resolution and address the most common risk behaviors among minors. The demand for this type of agent from Córdoba's educational centers has significantly increased in recent years, prompting the implementation of this course.

"The medium-term objective we have set is for every educational center in the city to have a reference Tutor Agent to whom they can turn."

Jesús Coca · Delegate for Security of the Córdoba City Council
Coca explained that the expansion of this program seeks to integrate the agent into the educational community, making them an approachable and accessible figure for citizens from an early age. Furthermore, he believes that increasing the number of trained agents will be a fundamental tool for detecting risk behaviors and anticipating situations that could compromise student safety.
The course will run until April 10, with sessions primarily held in the mornings. It will involve officers from the local police forces of Córdoba and Mijas, as well as the National Police Corps. The delegated prosecutor for Road Safety in Córdoba, psychologists specializing in working with minors, and educational community personnel will also participate. Upon completion, participants must pass a knowledge exam.
