The Councillor for Health, Presidency, and Emergencies of the Junta de Andalucía, Antonio Sanz, has confirmed the opening of the third out-of-hospital emergency point in Córdoba city on Thursday, April 9, emphasizing the consensus reached with healthcare professionals.

During a technical visit to a pharmacy in Cabra (Córdoba), where a pilot program is being implemented to optimize the dispensing of chronic treatments, Sanz reiterated his department's commitment to this objective. He highlighted that the inauguration of the Emergency center has been developed in close collaboration with representatives of the healthcare sector.
The fundamental purpose is for the new Emergency service to evolve and carry out its activities under optimal conditions. Although a progressive adaptation in terms of the number of healthcare professionals is anticipated, the councillor stressed the importance of its imminent opening from the 9th.

"The important thing is that yes, it will open from the 9th."

Regarding the objections from the Medical Union about a potential staff shortage, Sanz assured that the department maintains a “constant and permanent dialogue” with the union, acknowledging that “improvements can always be proposed.” He stated that they are open to further improvements but admitted the difficulties in filling positions, as despite having advertised the necessary vacancies, the response from candidates is not always as expected.
Finally, the councillor concluded that each situation is addressed individually, and the priority is the opening of this Emergency point, which he considers vital for the city of Córdoba. He insisted that this achievement is the result of dialogue with professionals, recognizing that there will always be room for continuous improvement.
