The city of Córdoba will host the 37th edition of the Los Califas 10K Race next Sunday, April 19. This sporting event, in addition to its traditional route, is consolidated as the Provincial 10K Road Championship, attracting over a thousand runners.

Organized by the Los Califas-Universidad de Córdoba Athletics Club, this competition is part of the provincial popular race circuit and has become a benchmark for athletes across Andalucía. The start and finish lines will be located at the El Fontanar facilities, beginning at 10:00 AM.
The event's presentation was attended by Isabel Albás and Sebastián del Rey, president and manager of the Córdoba Municipal Sports Institute, respectively. Representing the organizing club was its president, Antonio Romero.

"The Andalusian Athletics Federation has granted us the organization of the Provincial 10k Road Championship this year, which represents recognition for the good work done in all previous editions. Our goal is to offer Córdoba an original and high-quality race."

Antonio Romero · President of the Los Califas-Universidad de Córdoba Athletics Club
The race will maintain prizes in all categories, including cash rewards for the top three finishers in both the women's and men's categories. One of the main novelties of this edition is the debut of a renovated route, designed to pass through emblematic streets of the city, such as the Ribera area, and offer a faster circuit that favors participants' personal bests.
The new course includes key points such as Castello d’Empuries, Pintor Espinosa, Avenida de Manolete, Avenida del Aeropuerto, Avenida Vallellano, Avenida del Corregidor, Paseo de la Ribera, Ronda de los Mártires, and the Puente de San Rafael, before returning to El Fontanar. This design aims to consolidate Córdoba as a central hub for athletics, attracting athletes interested in the organizational quality of the Los Califas-Universidad de Córdoba Athletics Club and the support of local and provincial institutions.
