The Andalusian PP Electoral Committee has confirmed Antonio Repullo as the party's leading candidate for the province of Córdoba in the upcoming regional elections, scheduled for May 17.

The decision, to be formalized this Wednesday, places Repullo, currently the party's general secretary and campaign coordinator, at the forefront of the Córdoba list. This choice is notable as it is one of the few provinces where the top candidate is not a current minister of the Andalusian Government, unlike most other constituencies.
Compared to the June 2022 elections, several provinces feature new faces as their lead candidates. For Almería, the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries, Water, and Rural Development, Ramón Fernández-Pacheco, replaces Carmen Crespo. In Cádiz, the Minister of Health, Presidency, and Interior, Antonio Sanz, takes over from Ana Mestre. The Minister of Public Works, Territorial Planning, and Housing, Rocío Díaz, will lead the list for Granada, succeeding Marifrán Carazo. Finally, for Jaén, the Minister of Sustainability and Environment, Catalina García, replaces Juan Bravo.
Conversely, key figures such as the President of the Junta, Juanma Moreno, will run again as the number one candidate for Málaga. Also repeating are the Minister of Culture and Sport, Patricia del Pozo, for Seville, and the Minister of Inclusion, Social, Youth, Families, and Equality, Loles López.

The selection of the lead candidates, four men and four women, represents a commitment to political experience and management over recent years, as seven are ministers in the current regional government and the eighth, Antonio Repullo, currently the general secretary of the PP-A, was the Government delegate of the Junta in the province of Córdoba in the previous legislature.

The PP-A has stated that this selection of candidates, comprising four men and four women, reflects a clear commitment to experienced leadership in both governance and politics. Seven of those chosen are ministers in the current regional government, and Antonio Repullo, though not a minister, brings substantial experience as the general secretary of the PP-A and a former delegate of the Junta's Government in Córdoba during the previous legislative term.
The PP-A Electoral Committee is scheduled to approve the complete lists this Wednesday, coinciding with the opening of the period for submitting candidacies to the Electoral Board. Subsequently, these lists will require ratification by the party's National Electoral Committee.

"The diligence with which the party has resolved this very important process represents further proof of the unity, serenity, and stability that reigns in the PP-A, which is the same as that displayed by our autonomous community."

Antonio Sanz · President of the PP-A Electoral Committee
Antonio Sanz, president of the PP-A Electoral Committee, commended the party's swift and efficient handling of this process, emphasizing that this “diligence” is a testament to the “unity, serenity, and stability” that characterize both the PP-A and the autonomous community of Andalusia.
