The Andalusian Government has formalized its request to act as a private prosecution in the investigation of the Adamuz railway accident, although it has not yet received official confirmation from the Montoro court.

The spokesperson for the Andalusian Government, Carolina España, confirmed this Wednesday that the Junta de Andalucía has submitted an application to join as a private prosecution in the case investigating the causes of the Adamuz railway accident. This request has been directed to the Montoro court, which is handling the case.
Despite the formalization of procedures by the Junta's Legal Cabinet, the regional administration has not yet received an official response from the court confirming its inclusion in the process. The Junta's situation differs from that of the city councils of Huelva and Punta Umbría, whose requests to join the proceedings were previously rejected by the same Montoro judge.

"The Executive's objective is for the truth of everything that happened to be known."

The distinction in the Junta's case lies in the significant expenses and efforts that Andalusian public services had to deploy to assist the victims of the incident. Carolina España also noted that the Andalusian Government maintains constant communication with the commissioner for victims and that they are analyzing the latest report from the Guardia Civil, which is advancing the investigation.
