The renowned Jerez-born artist Beatriz Cañete Pozo will inaugurate her new exhibition titled 'Aqua' this Thursday, April 9, at Espacio Abierto Jerez, marking a significant shift in her style and themes.
The 'Aqua' exhibition will open to the public at 8:00 PM at Espacio Abierto Jerez and will be available for visitors until May 1. Those interested can enjoy Cañete's works during morning hours, from Tuesday to Friday, from 10:30 AM to 1:00 PM, and in the afternoons, from Monday to Friday, from 6:00 PM to 8:30 PM.
Beatriz Cañete Pozo comes from a lineage of established painters in Jerez, being the daughter of María Manuela Pozo and Joaquín Cañete. After graduating in Fine Arts, she has followed her parents' artistic path, solidifying her own journey in the art world.
This exhibition represents the artist's third solo show, and each has addressed a different theme. For 'Aqua', Cañete has chosen to explore water-based techniques such as watercolor and acrylic, focusing on landscapes that incorporate elements of rivers, lakes, and seas.

"It is the time I have given myself to observe a mystery I barely understand. I can perceive the forces around us acting by dispersing pigments on wet paper or changing a color in the center of a wave."
The artist has confessed that this exhibition represents a 180-degree turn in her career, a project she has worked on for two years and from which she expects a good reception. Her main interest lies in observing nature and experimenting with various techniques.

"Playing with my brushes, spending half an afternoon watching the foam on the shore, or waking up curious to see how the wash I left to dry last night turned out, is how I try to learn how the magic of water works while having fun."
