The 'Mejor Acera' Plan in San Fernando is carrying out various actions to renew pavement conditions and facilitate pedestrian transit. Recent interventions include sidewalk improvements on Eume Street in the Bazán neighborhood and the completion of approximately 75 meters of sidewalk renovation on Luis Milena Street.
On this same street, a pedestrian crossing is also being adapted to enhance safety and accessibility. In the city center, workers are currently replacing damaged slabs on General Serrano Street to correct pavement defects and prevent issues for pedestrians.
According to the City Council, these works are part of the ordinary urban maintenance program and are coordinated with neighborhood entities and federations, which report incidents detected in the areas. The plan is being developed progressively, with interventions also carried out in Villarrubí and Merendero this year.
Additionally, sidewalk repairs and curb reductions have been performed in neighborhoods such as La Pastora, Diputación, and Constitución. Streets like Augusto de Miranda and Escultor Antonio Bey have also seen accessibility-related improvements.
The program combines larger-scale projects with specific interventions to replace damaged slabs or adapt pedestrian crossings, aiming to maintain public spaces in adequate condition. These tasks are part of the regular public road conservation efforts undertaken by the City Council throughout the year, distributed across different neighborhoods to address specific needs.
The City Council has not specified the overall budget or the schedule for future interventions, but has indicated that work will continue in various parts of the city according to the established plan. The 'Mejor Acera' Plan thus maintains several lines of work focused on sidewalk maintenance and the improvement of pedestrian accessibility in different urban environments of the municipality.
