A summer storm is causing water accumulation and floods in various parts of Huelma this Thursday, following the activation of a yellow alert for storms in the province of Jaén by the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet).
The heavy rainfall has led to incidents at the entrance to Las Cabritas and in several streets of the municipality. For safety reasons, access to Las Cabritas remains temporarily closed due to the obstruction of the road by the river's flow and objects such as a crash barrier and tree trunks.
The City Council of Huelma and Solera has urged residents to exercise extreme caution, avoid unnecessary travel, and drive with maximum attention during adverse weather conditions, respecting closed areas.
The storm has also affected other municipalities in the province, with floods reported in Campillo de Arenas, Cambil, and La Cerradura, where flash floods have caused water accumulation on some roads.
Aemet maintains a yellow alert in the Guadalquivir Valley until 9:00 PM, with forecasts of storms and strong wind gusts, and maximum temperatures reaching 40 degrees Celsius. Other areas like Morena y Condado and Cazorla y Segura are under a yellow alert for heat, with highs of 38 degrees.
