The works, which began with the removal of advertising billboards, will continue with the cleaning and clearing of the plot. This action responds to a long-standing neighborhood demand and was blocked by an appeal during the bidding process, delaying its award by a full year.
The Cadiz-based company Boom AECSL is responsible for executing the project, which has a six-month completion period. The new green area will be located in El Pino alley, at the corner of La Casería bridge and Torero Rafael Ortega street, on land adjacent to the railway easement.
The design includes various areas, such as a landscaped recreational zone with picnic spaces and pedestrian paths connecting the three access points: one from La Casería bridge and two from Torero Rafael Ortega street. Fourteen picnic tables and 36 low-height palm trees will be installed, along with perimeter slopes featuring vegetation and trees.
This project, drafted in 2023, aims to utilize land that has been disused for years, accumulating weeds, and is located next to the old Camino de la Cruz. The works are expected to be completed by the end of the year, contributing to the improvement of facilities in the northern part of the municipality, a deficiency that residents have repeatedly expressed.
