Asier Villalibre, forward for Real Racing Club, has urged calm among fans, highlighting that the team remains at the top of LaLiga Hypermotion. The player, on loan from Deportivo Alavés, stated in a press conference that the players are "content and happy" and that he perceives no concern within the locker room.
“"There's always talk about what happened in previous seasons, but I don't see any resemblance this time. This is going to be a very long season, and we will fight until the last matchday."
The forward from Vizcaya acknowledged that, despite their strong position, there is a fear of not achieving promotion, a goal everyone desires. Villalibre stressed the need to motivate supporters, reminding them that Racing leads the league table and that the team is making a great effort, despite less convincing performances against Andorra, Albacete, and Zaragoza.
Regarding the heavy 6-2 defeat to Andorra, Villalibre explained that, while the result is partly forgotten, it still stings their pride and provides the team with "extra motivation" for Sunday's upcoming match against Almería, currently in second place. He described that game as "different," where an unexpected slump and the opponent's strong performance were decisive.
The footballer anticipated that the match against Almería will be "tough" due to the opponent's quality. However, recalling their first-round victory, he is confident that Racing's best strategy will be attack. "Our best asset is to attack; when we are all up front, we defend and attack better, and that will be key in the match," concluded Villalibre, who, while aiming for victory, believes a draw would not be a bad result.
