Over 74,000 people in the province of Almería benefit from the Minimum Living Income (IMV), with an average of 453 euros per household, solidifying this benefit as a fundamental pillar of social protection in the region.

According to the latest statistics published by the National Social Security Institute (INSS), the province of Almería has reached 74,096 beneficiaries of the Minimum Living Income (IMV). This figure underscores the relevance of this aid in the territory, especially for the most vulnerable groups.
In total, 7,905 recipient households have been counted in the province, demonstrating broad coverage of the social protection system. The average monthly amount per beneficiary stands at 163.3 euros, slightly below the national average but in line with values recorded in Andalusia.
The analysis details that the average amount per household totals 453.6 euros per month, while the average amount per beneficiary within each cohabitation unit is 223.3 euros. These data highlight the importance of the IMV as an economic supplement for low-income families, acting as an economic safety net and a tool to reduce inequality.
Nationally, the Minimum Living Income reached a total of 829,399 households in March, benefiting 2,532,284 people. Since its implementation in 2020, it has reached 3,546,408 people across the country. The average age of IMV beneficiaries is 28.5 years, decreasing to 20.1 years if the main applicants are excluded.
To apply for the IMV, it is essential to have resided in Spain legally, effectively, and continuously for at least the previous year. Residency is accredited by registration in the central registry of foreigners for EU and Swiss citizens, or with the corresponding authorization for third-country nationals. Domicile in Spain is verified with a registration certificate, and the cohabitation unit is demonstrated with a family book, civil registry certificates, or census data. Furthermore, both the applicant and other members of their household must be in a situation of economic vulnerability.
