The National Police is organizing the second edition of the Ruta 091 Charity Race in Almería on May 24, a sporting event aimed at raising funds for the ASPAYM Association, dedicated to improving the quality of life for people with spinal cord injuries.

The presentation of this initiative, which combines sport and solidarity, took place in Almería and was attended by various authorities. These included the provincial commissioner of Almería, Antonio María Delgado de los Reyes; the general secretary of the Government Subdelegation in Almería, Antonio Hernández de la Torre Chicote; the Deputy for Sports of the Provincial Council of Almería, María Luisa Cruz Escudero; and the Sports Councilor of the Almería City Council, Antonio Jesús Casimiro Andújar.
The race will be held around the Torrecárdenas Shopping Center and will feature a 7-kilometer route for adults, as well as adapted children's categories and an inclusive modality. Approximately 700 participants are expected, with the possibility of increasing bib numbers based on demand. Registrations are now open through the digital platform cruzandolameta.com.

"A race that promotes healthy habits within the family."

María Luisa Cruz Escudero · Deputy for Sports of the Provincial Council of Almería
The Ruta 091, established since 2018 in several Spanish provinces, promotes social cohesion, police culture, and a healthy lifestyle. The event in Almería will not only include the competition but also a parallel program with police equipment exhibitions, children's activities, raffles, and special refreshments, solidifying its place as a prominent event in the city's sports and charity calendar.

"The National Police once again demonstrates its commitment to Almería as an Active City, promoting values such as safety, solidarity, inclusion, and health."

Antonio Jesús Casimiro Andújar · Sports Councilor of the Almería City Council
The event receives institutional support from the Provincial Council of Almería and the Almería City Council, as well as main sponsorship from Banco Santander and Mupol.
