Following incidents during the match against Málaga, where supporters from both teams gathered at the same point despite the match being classified as 'high risk', Almería has taken action. Starting next Monday, coinciding with the match against Mirandés, the red-and-white fans will have an exclusive space to support the players: the roundabout accessing the south stand and the adjacent street, Alcalde Santiago Martínez Cabrejas.
This important agreement was made possible thanks to the collaboration between the Almería organization director, the provincial head of the Police Station, and the head of the Citizen Security Brigade. The club's management has expressed its disagreement with the security protocol implemented during the Málaga match, emphasizing the necessity of this meeting to establish new guidelines.
“"A protocol will be established between the club and the Police to reach a consensus on security aspects."
Another key point of the meeting was the decision that the fan zone will also be for the exclusive use of Almería supporters. Furthermore, a joint security protocol between the club and the National Police was agreed upon. This will include a simulation exercise involving the Local Police and private security contracted by UD Almería, to practice responses to potential incidents during stadium events.
With the season approaching its decisive moment, the main objective is for fans to feel safe. The implementation of exclusive zones for each fan base during receptions at the Mediterráneo Stadium aims to prevent conflicts and ensure an atmosphere of support and security for all attendees.
