The municipality of Monachil has opened a new aquatic play fountain in the Triana Montilla Contreras Children's Park, located in the Barrio de Monachil. The initiative seeks to revitalize the area and provide a refreshing leisure option, especially during the summer months.
This new installation complements previous improvements to the space, formerly known as Parque del Alba. The park was renamed last May in memory of Triana Montilla Contreras, a young deceased resident, as a gesture of permanent tribute from the entire municipality.
The play fountain is similar to others already operational in locations such as Parque de los Aragones and Parque de los Llanos. The council's objective is to energize the park and offer children a playful alternative for the summer heat.
“"With this new water fountain, we continue to improve a park that holds very special meaning for all Monachil residents. We want it to be a place full of life, where our children play, cool off, and enjoy themselves, and where Triana's memory is always present."
The Triana Montilla Contreras Children's Park officially adopted its current name as a tribute to Triana Montilla Contreras, who passed away at 17 due to Sanfilippo syndrome. The renaming emerged as a demonstration of affection and perpetual remembrance towards her and support for her family.
Mayor José Morales encouraged local families to enjoy the new fountain, anticipating that it will become a favorite spot during the summer season.
