The town of Huétor Vega, in Granada, has launched the sixth edition of its popular Broad Bean and Artichoke Route, an initiative aimed at boosting the consumption of these local products and highlighting the gastronomic richness of the area until mid-May.
Since late March, food enthusiasts have had the opportunity to enjoy a unique culinary experience in Huétor Vega. The Broad Bean and Artichoke Route, celebrating its sixth edition this year, invites residents and visitors to taste dishes made with these two star products of local agriculture, renowned for their excellent flavor and quality.
Driven by the Huétor Vega City Council, this initiative not only seeks to promote the consumption of broad beans and artichokes but also to highlight the effort and dedication of the area's farmers. Furthermore, it allows participants to get a closer look at the municipality's culinary tradition and the importance of its seasonal products.
A total of thirteen restaurants in the town have joined this gastronomic proposal, each offering two options of creative and traditional dishes. Among the delicacies, classic broad beans with ham, reinvented with special touches, and sautéed artichokes, some even with innovative sauces that enhance their flavor, stand out. The route will continue until the end of the harvest, expected around mid-May.
This initiative helps consolidate Huétor Vega as a benchmark gastronomic destination in the Vega de Granada, where tradition and modernity merge to offer unique culinary experiences.
