The Granada Provincial Council has inaugurated the completion of improvement works on the provincial road GR3303. This route, linking the Granadan capital with Armilla, Churriana de la Vega, Vegas del Genil, and Las Gabias, has undergone an intervention to enhance road safety on a stretch near a well-known hypermarket.
The project involved an investment of 681,700 euros and has successfully removed a high accident rate area, improving safety conditions on one of the most heavily trafficked arteries in the metropolitan area. The provincial president emphasized that the intervention addresses a long-standing demand and enhances a strategic connection.

The inauguration was attended by various local authorities, including the mayor of Granada, Marifrán Carazo, and the mayors of Churriana de la Vega, Antonio Narváez, Vegas del Genil, María del Carmen Ros, and Armilla, Dolores Cañavate. The importance of institutional coordination in unblocking projects and addressing mobility issues was highlighted.
The road alignment correction focused on kilometer point 0+700, where a dangerous curve, a remnant of the original rural path configuration, has been redesigned. A new axis of over 500 meters has been constructed with straight alignments and larger radius curves to smooth the road's geometry.
The works also included widening the deck of an existing bridge over the Monachil River to accommodate the new alignment, while respecting the watercourse's hydraulic conditions. The construction of two new roundabouts nearby is planned to further improve traffic flow.
