The town of Albolote has opened a new children's playground area on Avenida de Andalucía, designed to offer children a safer environment with higher quality facilities. This project, promoted by the Albolote City Council, aims to improve leisure spaces for families in the metropolitan municipality.
The park has been named in honor of Nieves Carrasco, a beloved figure in Albolote, recognized for her deep social commitment and outstanding solidarity work. Her involvement was fundamental in various initiatives that united the community, especially in the fight against cancer, as reported by the Consistory.
“"It seemed very symbolic to us that a place full of life, games, and future bears her name."
Nieves Carrasco's family was present at the inauguration ceremony, sharing this emotional moment with the neighbors in an event described as “close and simple”.
The creation of this park is part of the Albolote Crece program, a municipal initiative that foresees an investment of more than 420,000 euros. This budget will be allocated to the improvement and maintenance of more than 25 children's parks distributed throughout the municipality, with the aim of offering better spaces in neighborhoods, increasing the quality of life for families, and ensuring safe and well-maintained environments for children's growth.
