This traditional sporting event will bring together runners and hikers for a 7.1-kilometer route between Bailén and the Santuario de Zocueca. The race start is scheduled for 8:00 PM from the Santuario de El Rumblar, in the Aldea de Zocueca, while the hiking modality will begin at 7:30 PM.
The Councilor for Sports, Manuel Rodríguez, highlighted the importance of this event, describing it as "much more than a sporting competition," as it "is part of our traditions and offers citizens a magnificent opportunity to enjoy sports and our surroundings." Rodríguez encouraged participation, emphasizing the goal of the race continuing to be a meeting point for athletics enthusiasts and lovers of outdoor physical activity.
“"We want this race to continue being a meeting point for athletics fans and for all those people who enjoy walking and doing physical activity in contact with nature."
Registrations are now open and can be made through the website cruzandolameta.es and at the Casa de la Juventud de Bailén. The councilor also stressed the municipal support for initiatives that combine "sports practice, coexistence, and knowledge of our heritage and natural spaces," reaffirming the City Council's commitment to promoting healthy lifestyles and preserving local traditions.
The organization is supported by Spanish Red Cross, Bailén Local Police, and the Voluntary Civil Protection Group of Bailén, in addition to the co-organization by the Bailén Athletics Club.
