The center, managed by the Department of Training and Employment, is a key infrastructure for developing courses and workshops in the municipality. The intervention includes a redistribution of interior spaces to optimize the available area, totaling approximately 2,600 square meters spread over two floors. The aim is to create 175.09 square meters of new interior space.
Key actions involve constructing a new enclosed module in the central atrium on the first floor, which will house two storage rooms, an archive, a classroom, and an office. The assembly hall will also be expanded, and two existing classrooms will be combined to create a larger teaching room with new plumbing and sanitation facilities. Additionally, a kitchen area will be fitted out in the multipurpose room, and a shower will be installed in one of the restroom facilities.
In addition to space reorganization, the works include maintenance, repair, and safety interventions. This will involve replacing damaged glass block sections, creating a technical gallery to facilitate cleaning of the entrance hall windows, and repairing the main staircase to enhance user safety.
This reform complements the comprehensive rehabilitation of the Jabalcuza I Training and Employment Center, which involved an investment of around 3.8 million euros, supported by a European subsidy of €1,812,396.91. That project included energy efficiency improvements, accessibility enhancements, and interior space renovations.
