The incident occurred early in the morning when the smoke, visible from much of the urban area, alerted early-rising residents. Fortunately, the fire outbreak did not escalate thanks to the rapid action of the firefighters from the Levante Almeriense Fire Extinction Service.
According to eyewitnesses, the smoke was allegedly caused by a controlled burn in an open field located in a central area of the town. The incident prompted the deployment of two fire trucks.
The intervention by the Levante Almeriense firefighters took place around eight in the morning, shortly after the alarm was raised. The swift response prevented the burn from having greater consequences.
