The Lucena Culture Department has celebrated the success of the 29th Lucena City Theatre Week, which took place from October 14 to 25. For ten days, the cultural event filled its performance spaces and attracted numerous attendees to both indoor and outdoor activities.
The mayor of Lucena, Aurelio Fernández, expressed his gratitude for the public's response and congratulated the Culture Department, led by Francisco Barbancho, for organizing a diverse program that was very well received.
In total, the Theatre Week drew nearly 5,000 spectators. Performances at the Municipal Auditorium, Palacio Erisana, and Castillo del Moral were sold out with titles such as “El barbero de Sevilla,” “Misery,” and “América Forever” by Goyo Jiménez. Street performances, including “Hypnos” in Plaza Nueva and “Famulus 4.0” in Plaza Archidona, also saw a strong response.
The Culture Department also acknowledged the involvement of the participating theatre companies, technical staff, organizing team, and volunteers from the Duque de Rivas Theatre School, whose collaboration was essential for the event's success. The organization is already looking forward to the 30th anniversary, aiming to continue bringing performing arts closer to residents and visitors.
