The Lucena City Council, through its Tourism Department, is collaborating once again with the Vespa Club Lucena on this established initiative aimed at promoting the city as a tourist destination. This year, Moriles will be the guest town.
A notable novelty for this edition is the return of Lucena's city center as a venue for activities. This coming Friday evening, after the ascent to the Sanctuary of Nuestra Señora de Araceli, a concert will be held in Plaza de Archidona, next to the walls of the Castillo del Moral. This proposal aims to bring the rally closer to residents and visitors, boosting the activity of local hospitality establishments. The concert will feature a performance by Benalrock and a bar managed by local restaurateurs.
The main day will be Saturday, featuring a route that partially modifies its usual course to offer participants a different perspective of the territory. Starting from FM Calefacción de Lucena, the Vespas will head towards Zambra and Cabra, continuing through the surroundings of Montilla and Aguilar de la Frontera. A stop will be made in Moriles before returning to Lucena via the Las Navas del Selpillar area.
The Councilor for Tourism, Francisco Barbancho, highlighted the ongoing municipal collaboration with the Vespa Club Lucena and the entity's work in projecting the city's image. The presentation also included the participation of the mayor of Moriles, Paqui Carmona; the new president of the Vespa Club Lucena, Fernando Muñoz; and the manager of the Cooperativa Olivarera Virgen de Araceli, Bernardo Muñoz, where the event took place.
This year's edition already has around 220 registrations. Participant reception will begin on Thursday and continue on Friday, while the main route will take place on Saturday. On Sunday, a guided tourist visit of the city will be offered. The Lucena City Council has thanked the club for its commitment to maintaining this activity, emphasizing the Ruta Subbética en Vespa's capacity to foster community, attract visitors, and showcase both Lucena and its surrounding municipalities.
