The Department of Education and Family of the Lucena City Council has opened applications for transport aid aimed at students who need to travel for their in-person studies. The initiative seeks to help families cover the expenses associated with their academic training.
The program has an initial budget of 23,700 euros, a significant increase from last year's 7,000 euros, with each student eligible for 150 euros. Beneficiaries must be under 25 years old, registered in Lucena since January 1, 2026, and pursuing undergraduate university degrees, intermediate or higher vocational training, artistic or sports education, or studies at the Official School of Languages.
The aid also extends to students from Jauja and Las Navas del Selpillar who commute to Lucena for their studies. Furthermore, the per capita income limit has been raised to 5,760 euros, up from 5,400 euros in the previous edition, to ensure broader access for families.
“"These grants are part of the municipal measures to support families, alongside other lines for rent, school supplies, and birth rates, providing assistance to cover the travel costs required for young people's education."
Applications will be accepted until October 28. The Department of Education and Families encourages all eligible individuals to apply. The terms and conditions, along with the required documentation, are available on the municipal electronic headquarters.
