The works have finished on Bachiller León street, located in the Cerro neighborhood of Cabra. The intervention, which had a total budget of 164,000 euros and generated 805 workdays, was overseen by the mayor of Cabra, Fernando Priego, and the municipal delegate for Urbanism, Alfonso Vergillos.
Mayor Fernando Priego highlighted that the renovation addressed the improvement needs in both the paving and the basic infrastructure of the street, emphasizing the utility of the PFEA for modernizing neighborhoods, improving residents' daily lives, and creating employment.
Due to the lack of space for conventional sidewalks, a single-platform solution was chosen, enhancing accessibility, pedestrian safety, and the urban image. The new pavement uses rustic cobblestones, a non-slip material that integrates the street's aesthetic with its surroundings and facilitates urban readability, differentiating between roadway and sidewalk areas.
The intervention also included the replacement of the drinking water supply network with a new 100-millimeter ductile cast iron pipeline, reinforcing the quality and reliability of the area's hydraulic infrastructure.
Priego thanked residents for their cooperation during the works, noting that the final result justifies the inconvenience, as it results in more accessible, safer streets better prepared for the future, maintaining a homogeneous aesthetic line with other areas of the Cerro neighborhood.
