Electric scooters and other PMVs now require mandatory helmet use, are prohibited from sidewalks, and the minimum age for riding has been set at 15 years. Additionally, during nighttime or low visibility conditions, they must be equipped with lighting or reflective elements.
Bicycles will generally travel on the roadway, preferably in the center of the lane. Motor vehicles must maintain a minimum safety distance of 5 meters when following a bicycle. On interurban roads, when overtaking a bicycle, speed must be reduced by at least 20 km/h below the road's limit, and a minimum lateral separation of 1.5 meters must be maintained.
For motorcycles and mopeds, the use of closed footwear is mandatory on all types of roads, and protective gloves are required on interurban roads. Motorcycles must also carry a high-visibility reflective vest.
