The Lucena City Council has presented the thirteenth edition of the Lucena City Half Marathon and 10K, one of the main events on the provincial sports calendar. The race will be held on March 14, 2027. The Councilor for Sports, Ángel Novillo, and the president of the Club Maratón Lucena, Pedro Díaz, have unveiled the details of this edition which will combine both distances.
The Lucena councilor highlighted the reception of the last edition, where the 1,500 registrations were sold out. As a novelty, the participant limit will be increased to 1,700 to continue consolidating the event's growth.
Registration will be open from August 1st to March 4th via the website mediamaratonlucena.com. Registration for the half marathon will cost 10 euros until January 24th and 14 euros thereafter, while the 10-kilometer race will maintain a single price of 5 euros.
"We are keeping the competition fees unchanged and will continue to enhance the participants' experience with complementary activities linked to local tourism, culture, and heritage," explained Ángel Novillo.
Pedro Díaz pointed out that another notable novelty will be the incorporation of an intermediate sprint point, a competitive incentive that will reward the first runners to cross this intermediate point of the course.
