The Iznájar City Council presents the exhibition "Queens and Ladies of the Festivals: 1978-2002", a photographic journey through 24 years of history honoring the young women who were protagonists of the patron celebrations.

In anticipation of the upcoming Patron Festivals, the municipality of Iznájar has organized a cultural initiative that encourages reflection on the past and collective memory. The exhibition "Queens and Ladies of the Festivals: 1978-2002" focuses on the young women chosen to represent these celebrations over nearly a quarter of a century.
Located in the Antonio Cañizares “El Perlo” exhibition hall, the display offers a visual journey through recovered images. These photographs not only document the protagonists' history but also capture the essence of an era, the specificities of the celebrations, and a way of experiencing the festivals that has become part of the memory for several generations of Iznájar residents.
More than just a collection of snapshots, the exhibition is conceived as a tribute to all the Queens and Ladies who participated in the Patron Festivals during the period from 1978 to 2002. It acknowledges the fundamental role they played as part of a tradition deeply rooted in the identity and social life of Iznájar.
This cultural proposal carries a strong emotional component, allowing former protagonists of these celebrations to reconnect with photographs from their youth. These memories, shared with family and friends, link new generations to the municipality's history and traditions.
It is planned that the exhibition will be expanded next year with a second collection covering the period from 2003 to the present day, thus completing a broader overview of the recent history of the festivals.
The official inauguration will take place on Thursday, August 27th, at 8:00 PM in the Antonio Cañizares “El Perlo” hall. The exhibition will be open to the public until October 4th, with visiting hours from Monday to Sunday between 10:00 AM and 2:00 PM, and on Fridays and Saturdays from 7:00 PM to 10:00 PM.
