The council has published the tender for the renovation of the cycling track and the changing room building of the municipal facility ‘Pedro Jiménez Fernández’, located in the Mantón de Manila industrial estate, to create a new football 7 pitch.
The project, with a base tender budget of 503,394.59 euros, will be executed within the Integrated Action Plan (PAI) ‘Cabra Crece Contigo’. The European Union, through the European Regional Development Fund (FEDER), will co-finance 85% of the project, with the remaining 15% to be funded by municipal resources.
The project will repurpose a municipal area of 5,244.12 square meters to meet the growing demand for sports spaces. The intervention includes dismantling existing elements, demolishing the cycling track, and preparing the ground to build a football 7 pitch measuring 65 by 39 meters.
The new playing field will feature artificial turf with FIFA Quality and Quality Pro certification, an elastic base, drainage and irrigation systems, regulation goals, substitute benches, and ball-stop nets. A new sports lighting installation with four towers of 16 meters in height will also be implemented.
The comprehensive renovation of the changing room building, covering 101.25 square meters, will include two independent changing rooms for teams, a changing room for referees, shower and toilet areas, accessible spaces for people with disabilities, a lobby, an office, and a storage room.
Special attention will be paid to accessibility, ensuring connection between the entrance, the field, and the changing rooms via adapted pathways, as well as emergency vehicle access. The intervention will also improve the energy efficiency of the facilities with new air conditioning systems and a photovoltaic installation comprising 12 solar panels.
The tender is being processed through a simplified open procedure, with an execution period of six months. Interested companies can submit their offers electronically via the Public Sector Contracting Platform until October 5th.
The PAI ‘Cabra Crece Contigo’ has a global budget of 10,543,151 euros and received a score of 78.75 points in the final resolution of the Integrated Action Plans call, becoming one of the highest-rated projects in Andalusia and the highest-scoring in the province of Córdoba, advancing the municipality's urban transformation strategy.
