The properties affected by the action are the ‘Antonio Espinar Arcos’ Municipal Cinestudio, the ‘San José’ Municipal Cemetery, and the Olive Oil Train Interpretation Center. The intervention involved the elimination of asbestos materials and the installation of new construction elements.
The project is part of the ‘Diputación Invierte 2025’ program. The Provincial Council of Córdoba financed 50% of the cost, contributing 39,968.54 euros, while the local council covered the remaining amount, 39,968.55 euros.
These works were carried out following the creation and approval of the Municipal Census of Asbestos Installations, a legal requirement stemming from Law 7/2022 on waste and contaminated soils for a circular economy. This law mandates municipalities to census asbestos-containing installations and plan their gradual removal.
With this intervention, the Cabra City Council continues its efforts to identify and eliminate asbestos from its municipal facilities, having already completed this action in the three buildings included in the plan.
