The festival, kicking off at 10:00 PM at the “Paco Gandía” Municipal Booth, is a highly anticipated cultural event in the province and a testament to the deep roots of flamenco in Andalusia. It is organized by the Culture Department of the Estepa City Council, with collaboration from the Provincial Council of Seville and the Peña Flamenca Manuel de Paula.
During the poster presentation, designed by Macarena Cocinero, the Mayor of Estepa, Antonio Jesús Muñoz, and the Culture Delegate, Ascen Castillo, emphasized the support from the Peña Flamenca Manuel de Paula in promoting this art form. The event aims to protect and foster flamenco as a distinctive element of Andalusian culture.
The 38th edition will feature a lineup of top-tier artists. Singing will be by José Valencia, Felipa del Moreno, Manuel de la Tomasa, and Niño Peña Flor. Guitar accompaniment will be provided by Juan Requena, Manuel Valencia, Luis Medina, and Morilito. The rhythm will be kept by the palmas of Juan Diego and Manuel Valencia, while dance will be led by Lucía Benavides and her group. The event presentation will be hosted by Laura Caballero.
The Polvorón Flamenco de Estepa has established itself as one of the most important festivals in the province, attracting enthusiasts from across the region. Its name, a play on Estepa's identity as the birthplace of mantecados and polvorones, is intertwined with the celebration of flamenco art in its various disciplines: singing, guitar playing, and dance.
Throughout its history, the festival has hosted renowned flamenco figures and emerging talents, blending tradition with innovation. Artists such as Jesús Méndez, Anabel Valencia, Esperanza Fernández, Luis El Zambo, Ezequiel Benítez, among many others, have graced its stage, as have guitarists like Antonio Higuero, Paco Cortés, Miguel Ángel Cortés, and Antonio Soto.
Dance and rhythmic accompaniment are also fundamental pillars of the festival, with the participation of artists like Araceli Muñoz, Irene Rueda, Silvia Herrerías, Macarena Cocinero, and María García, each edition enriched by their stage presence and festive spirit.
