Last Sunday, Alcalá la Real hosted the annual family gathering of Aprompsi, a Jaén-based association that works with individuals with intellectual disabilities. The event brought together members and their families in an atmosphere of emotion and mutual recognition.
A representative from the Territorial Delegation of Social Inclusion, Youth, Families and Equality attended the event, highlighting the fundamental role of families in enabling their loved ones to develop their life projects. She emphasized that inclusion would not be possible without the support and dedication provided at home.
“"To speak of inclusion without acknowledging the role of families would be to leave out a fundamental part of reality. Because their dedication, patience, and love are, in many cases, the driving force that makes it possible for so many people to develop their life projects in equality."
The day began with breakfast prepared by Aprompsi's Special Employment Center, followed by a guided tour of the Fortaleza de La Mota, a significant heritage site in the town. Afterwards, participants moved to the La Trinidad venue for the main event and a communal lunch, which served to strengthen bonds among families and celebrate the collaborative work carried out throughout the year.
The institutional representative also thanked the Alcalá la Real city council for its warm welcome and its commitment to social inclusion.
