The Consejería de Empleo, Empresa y Trabajo Autónomo of the Junta de Andalucía has approved financial aid to cover part of the salary costs for maintaining jobs held by people with disabilities at the Special Employment Center Jardines y Medio Ambiente during 2025. The total subsidy amount is €272,868.65.
The total salary costs for the workforce of this special employment center amounted to €688,640. Of this figure, the subsidy received covers a portion, while the remaining €415,772 will be financed by the municipal budget.
This resolution, signed on August 21st by the Territorial Delegation of Employment, Business and Self-Employment and Artificial Intelligence, Digital Development and Public Administration in Jaén, is part of Line 2 of aid for maintaining jobs in Special Employment Centers, regulated by the order of June 21, 2024.
The purpose of this aid is to partially cover the salary expenses associated with maintaining these jobs, representing significant financial support for the operation of the Alcalá center and the continued employment of its employees with disabilities.
This grant coincides with a new phase for Jardines y Medio Ambiente, which has expanded its corporate purpose and is promoting new employment opportunities for people with intellectual disabilities. Recently, seven of the 35 selected individuals joined various departments of the City Council in early September.
It is worth noting that the municipal company's budget for the 2026 fiscal year stands at €1,020,000, with an estimated personnel cost of €794,000.
The current government team has made a significant effort to support the functioning of the Special Employment Center, increasing the workforce from 21 employees in December 2019 to 35 in December 2025.
