The summer schedule, presented by the Councilor for Sports, Belén Ramírez, along with coordinators Aurora Alcaide and Alberto Carrillo, reinforces existing activities and introduces new features like summer running, night hiking routes, and guided cycling tours, all free of charge and connected to the municipality's natural environment.
The Summer School will take place at the municipal sports center across six periods from June 23 to September 4, aimed at primary school students. It will feature sports activities, workshops, team games, excursions, talks, and water games. The cost is 40 euros per fortnight, with discounts for large families and second children. Registration opens on June 5.
Intensive swimming courses will be held at the indoor pool of the CMDS in four sessions between June 23 and August 14, priced at 33 euros per fortnight (28 euros for registered individuals), with sibling discounts also available.
Registration for leagues and tournaments is now open. The 7-a-side football league kicks off on June 10, followed by the futsal league on June 22. The competitive program also includes hockey, padel, tennis, and 3x3 basketball leagues, plus two night tournaments for tennis and padel in late July. A free promotional tennis and padel tournament for minors aged 6 to 16 will be held on June 24 and 25.
The program is further enhanced with masterclasses in salsa and zumba at the fairgrounds, sessions of bodyjump, cross training, spinning, and Gluteboom, as well as free gymnastics classes in El Coto and La Tejuela throughout July and August.
On June 23, coinciding with the start of the Summer School, the Municipal Sports Schools will conclude with a free recreational day at the sports center, featuring a foam party, inflatable water attractions, face painting, and balloon modeling.
The councilor also reminded attendees of upcoming sporting events in the municipality, including the Andalusian Radio Control Championship (June 6-7), the 17th Classic and Historic Vehicle Fair (June 13-14), and the 25th Cross Santo Domingo (June 21).
