This measure, officially enacted through a mayoral decree signed by Mayor María Auxiliadora del Olmo Ruiz, aims to stimulate the local economy and service sector during periods of high public attendance. The resolution aligns with regional regulations on public performances and recreational activities.
The extended hours will be in effect for five specific nights: from August 27th to 28th, August 28th to 29th, August 29th to 30th, August 30th to 31st, and August 31st to September 1st. The two-hour extension applies exclusively to indoor activities. Outdoor terraces and seating areas will operate under the municipal ordinance for public space occupation, allowing a one-hour delay from their usual closing time, in addition to the current summer margin.
The decree also reminds establishments selling bakery items, pastries, prepared meals, or churros that they have complete freedom regarding operating hours. Concurrently, the City Council has issued a reminder to event organizers, bars, restaurants, pubs, and clubs regarding the mandatory compliance with established regulations.
Emphasis is placed on adhering to capacity limits, permissible noise emission levels, and health and safety conditions. Furthermore, the strict prohibition of selling or allowing alcohol consumption by minors is reiterated.
