This agreement's primary objective is to enhance the identification, control, and management of registered animals within the municipality. The collegiate institution will undertake the complete administration of the registry, including the computer processing of data, the preservation of relevant documentation, and the supply of necessary information to the City Council for the exercise of its responsibilities.
The signing of the agreement took place today between the mayor, Auxi del Olmo, and the President of the Veterinary College, Francisco Javier Chavernas. The pact also covers the issuance of the Andalusian Animal Identification and Registration Document (DAIRA) and, where applicable, the creation and management of the census for potentially dangerous animals.
Furthermore, the College will provide the City Council with six microchip readers and will be responsible for training the municipal staff who will perform these duties. The agreement will have an initial term of four years, with the possibility of extension for a similar period, aiming to optimize coordination and collaboration between both entities in animal protection and control matters.
