From early morning, the Sanctuary echoed with the chants of the faithful, who eagerly awaited the arrival of the Cofradía Matriz. This moment marked the beginning of the image's descent, its presentation to the people, and its subsequent placement on the floats for the procession.
Around 9:30 AM, La Morenita appeared through the threshold of the Sanctuary, greeted by a multitude of devotees and a shower of petals. This emotionally charged moment preceded the romería mass, which was officiated by the bishop of Jaén and accompanied by a romería choir.
While the Eucharist was taking place, the filial brotherhoods that had not yet arrived began their ascent to join the encounter with the Virgen de la Cabeza. By approximately 12 PM, the first of these brotherhoods started their journey towards the village, where devotees crowded the sides of the descent path, seeking to get as close as possible to the floats to touch them.
