The PSOE of Jódar had announced its intention to present a no-confidence motion to oust the current municipal government, formed by the People's Party and United Left. However, the socialist party needs the support of the two Podemos councilors, who left the government team in October 2025, for the motion to succeed.

Despite informal conversations held by the socialist spokesperson, Enrique Yerves, the Podemos councilors, Noelia Herrera and Lola Montávez, have confirmed they will not provide their support. They argue that the municipality suffered stagnation under previous socialist governments and do not consider a no-confidence motion necessary less than a year before the municipal elections in May 2027.

Podemos interprets the socialist initiative as an electoral strategy that could harm them in future elections. They prefer the citizens of Jódar to decide who should govern the council.

The PSOE membership in Jódar approved the motion's presentation in an assembly, based on having been the most voted list and criticizing the current government's "inaction" and "complete disaster of disorganization and lack of coordination," to which they attribute three years of "regression."
