The long-distance race, covering 62 kilometers and also serving as the Provincial Championship, saw the overall winners crowned in both male and female categories. Both completed the demanding course in first place, demonstrating a high level of competition.
In the shorter 25-kilometer modality, the top spots went to the runners who crossed the finish line in Plaza Marqués de Aracena. Both races also offered points for the prestigious UTMB Mont Blanc in France, attracting athletes with international aspirations.
Participants traversed various municipalities including Aracena, Cortelazor, Valdelarco, Galaroza, Alájar, Linares de la Sierra, and Los Marines. The route, which wound through the picturesque Sierra de Aracena Natural Park, featured elevation gains exceeding 2,000 meters in the long race and over 1,000 meters of accumulated ascent in the 25-kilometer event.
“"The high level of participation registered in this edition, which sold out its bibs within weeks of opening in January, as well as the organizational capacity for its implementation, are a coordinated and joint effort not only by the City Council, but also by the indispensable team of volunteers, an essential piece in making this event, and the name of Aracena, a benchmark in this sports modality."
In addition to the sporting atmosphere, the work of the 200 volunteers from sports clubs, associations, and individuals, both from Aracena and nearby towns, was highlighted. They were responsible for the aid stations and assisted runners throughout the day.
“"Essential for carrying out an event of these characteristics that not only places us on the national sports map but also brings excellent results in terms of tourism promotion, with magnificent occupancy for the hotel and hospitality sector of our city."
