“"We are proud of this event, because in just a few years it has managed to position itself prominently among races of its category. It is the result of the hard work, effort, and enthusiasm put in from the beginning by many people, who, in a unique setting like the Sierra de Aracena, highlight our landscapes, our geography, and the richness of our region."

The town of Aracena is gearing up to host the fourth edition of the Sierra de Aracena Ultra Trail on April 18, an event that will gather 400 runners from six different nationalities across its two race modalities.
The event, which has become a benchmark in the local sports calendar, will offer two challenging routes through the Sierra de Aracena and Picos de Aroche Natural Park. Participants can choose between a 62-kilometer course, with an accumulated elevation gain exceeding 2,000 meters, and a 25-kilometer course, featuring an accumulated ascent of over 1,000 meters.
Both races will start and finish in Plaza Marqués de Aracena. The route will traverse several municipalities in the region, including Aracena, Cortelazor, Valdelarco, Galaroza, Alájar, Linares de la Sierra, and Los Marines, showcasing the rich landscapes of the area.
The mayor of Aracena, Manuel Guerra, emphasized the importance of the event for promoting sports and the value of the local landscapes. He also highlighted the excellent reception from participants, whose registrations sold out last January, and thanked all individuals and entities involved, such as the Huelva Provincial Council and the regional municipalities, for their collaboration.
For his part, the Sports Councilor, Rafael Rodríguez, praised the work of the volunteer team, which is crucial for the event's success and runner assistance. Jorge Canterla, the organization's head, invited the residents of Aracena and the general public to enjoy the event and support the participants.
In addition to the races, this year's edition will include a hiking day for family members and companions, offering an opportunity for more people to enjoy the natural environment of the Sierra de Aracena.
