With the May Bank Holiday approaching, the province of Jaén offers three inland destinations—Torres, Cazorla, and Quesada—that promise a complete disconnection in the heart of Andalusian nature.

The arrival of spring invites planning getaways to enjoy the outdoors and blooming landscapes. For the upcoming May Bank Holiday, the province of Jaén stands out as a privileged location with options for all tastes, from hiking to contemplating local flora and fauna.
Among the highlighted destinations is Torres, a picturesque village in the heart of the Sierra Mágina Natural Park. With an altitude exceeding 800 meters, it offers a pleasant climate and transforms into a visual spectacle during the blooming of its 55,000 cherry trees. It is an ideal place for those seeking tranquility, with hiking trails, natural viewpoints, and the Fuenmayor Recreational Area. Additionally, Mount Aznaitín, at 1,720 meters, provides breathtaking views and houses the Cueva del Morrón with cave paintings. For a complete immersion, the Hondacabras Camping Area allows visitors to enjoy an agricultural environment among olive groves and mountains, although prior permission is required.
Another Jaén classic is Cazorla, the gateway to the Sierras de Cazorla, Segura y Las Villas Natural Park, declared a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve. Its location at the foot of the Peña de los Halcones and its traditional architecture make it a perfect place for ecotourism. Trails like the Castillo de las Cinco Esquinas Path or the Escaleruela Path allow exploration of valleys and mountains. The source of the Guadalquivir River is a notable point of interest, surrounded by rock formations and Mediterranean vegetation. The rich local fauna includes deer, foxes, wild boars, and birds of prey, while the Cerezuelo River is home to trout and otters.
Finally, just a few minutes from Cazorla, lies Quesada, another municipality that is part of the same natural park. Surrounded by peaks such as Gilillo (1,899 meters) and Rayal (1,884 meters), it is perfect for experienced hikers and climbers. Its valleys and 'calares' reveal unique landscapes with forests of black pine and Aleppo pine. Besides the source of the Guadalquivir River, the Valle de los Tejos stands out, featuring ancient yew trees. Quesada also boasts significant historical heritage, including the Parish Church of San Pedro y San Pablo and the Atalaya del Infante Don Enrique, as well as cave paintings in the Cueva del Encajero. The Cueva del Agua, in the hamlet of Tíscar, known for its stalactite formations and impressive waterfalls, is another unmissable attraction.
