A woman had to be revived this Sunday after falling into the Guadalquivir River as it passes through Seville, in an incident registered in one of the city's busiest areas due to the celebration of the Rowing World Cup.

The events took place in the vicinity of Paseo Juan Carlos I, next to the Lipasam facilities and near Plaza de Armas. The alert was received by the emergency service 112 around 8:30 AM, when several people reported that a woman had fallen into the water.

Upon receiving the call, the coordination center activated a large emergency response involving personnel from the Local Police, National Police, and the 061 health services. Upon arrival, intervention teams located the victim in critical condition and immediately began resuscitation maneuvers.

The incident occurred in a particularly crowded stretch of the Guadalquivir over the weekend due to the Rowing World Cup, an international event that brings together athletes, technicians, and numerous spectators along the Sevillian riverbank.

Once stabilized, the woman was initially transferred to the Specialized High-Performance Center (CEAR) of La Cartuja, where she continued to receive urgent medical attention. Subsequently, she was evacuated to a hospital for further treatment and monitoring.

The intervention of the emergency services forced a brief postponement of the start of the scheduled finals within the competition. However, once the situation was controlled and the area cleared, the events were able to proceed normally.

The circumstances that caused the woman's fall into the river have not yet been disclosed, and investigations are ongoing to clarify what happened.
