Barely fourteen hours after his remarkable success in the Seville bullring, the bullfighter expressed his contained joy, sharing the jubilation with his closest team and family. Although the night was not one of grand celebrations, the matador remained in Seville with the intention of visiting a colleague in the hospital, an encounter that ultimately did not materialize.
The bullfighter confessed to having slept little, attributing the lack of sleep to the happiness that overwhelms him. He highlighted the uniqueness of this second Puerta del Príncipe, an achievement that, in his words, is savored in a special way when one already knows the magnitude of such recognition.
“"I've slept little again, but I think it's been out of happiness. It's a very special Grand Gate when it arrives, but at first, you think it won't happen twice in a row. But it did, and it tastes very good because you already know what it's like."
This triumph, which occurred on Wednesday, April 22, marks a turning point in the bullfighter's season. He arrived at the fair with high expectations and leaves consolidated, with renewed confidence for the upcoming important commitments of the bullfighting season.
The bullfighter has perceived a significant boost in his career, evidenced by interest in him substituting for a colleague in Valladolid, although his commitments in Aguascalientes (Mexico) prevented him from accepting. He valued the support of fans and acquaintances, as well as the enthusiasm of his cuadrilla during the return to the hotel, emphasizing that Seville always leaves great impressions.
Regarding comments about the support from his compatriots, the bullfighter was clear:
“"Seville has 12,000 seats, and I don't think it was only those from Huelva who opened the Puerta del Príncipe for me. It doesn't matter what is said when everyone knows better than anyone what happened. The important thing is the excitement of people becoming your supporters, following you, spending their money to see you. That is success. At least for me."
The matador emphasized the importance of honesty with oneself and with the profession, maintaining calm and naturalness in the face of success. He recalled the demanding bull from El Parralejo that allowed him this new triumph, highlighting the beauty of experiencing this success with an animal from the same ranch.
Now, the bullfighter is preparing for a few days of rest in his homeland, Palos, before resuming his schedule in Aguascalientes and later in San Isidro, with his sights set on celebrating his ten years of alternative in Huelva.
