The Urban Planning and Environment Management has carried out the rehabilitation of this strategic road for the mobility of the northern part of the city, with an investment of 5.8 million euros. The mayor, José Luis Sanz, visited the works and highlighted the importance of the intervention for ensuring road safety.
The work was carried out over 10.3 kilometers in each direction, from the Carlos III exit to the connection with the A-8008 road (Sevilla to Brenes) and heading towards the A-4 highway. The intervention was executed in phases to minimize traffic disruptions.
The road surface showed widespread deterioration with fractures, potholes, and cracking. Following the repaving, the medians and roundabouts will be beautified.
Sanz stated that this investment is more than just simple asphalt work, calling it a comprehensive repair of a fundamental infrastructure. He added that the improvement of the SE-20 is part of a broader plan to transform the connections in northern Sevilla, adding to the over 150 kilometers of asphalt renewed in the city over the last three years.
